Abstract

This study aims to identify the element of imagination, its effectiveness, and its importance in the arts in general, and in acting in particular, and whether it is a fundamental pillar upon which the actor relies in portraying a character. The study also seeks to reveal the extent of imagination's effectiveness in the field of theater.

The main motivation for writing on this topic stems from the fact that imagination has occupied a significant place in the critical and philosophical discourses of philosophers. Furthermore, early humans used their imagination as a method and means of interacting with others, a fact that is enshrined in many of the myths and beliefs they held. Thus, imagination is a dynamic and driving force behind many art forms in societies.

Hence, the need arises to understand its importance and weight in how it is employed in the arts, and in fostering creativity and innovation in all their forms.
