A Systematic Review of the Literature on Barriers to Digital Transformation and Strategic Management Aimed at Enhancing the Competitiveness of Agribusinesses
Abstract
The digital transformation and strategic management of businesses are essential components of competitiveness, but research studies show that there are still barriers that prevent the implementation of these practices in agriculture. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to identify the barriers mentioned in scientific literature that constrain the processes of digital transformation and strategic management for agribusiness competitiveness. Methodologically, this paper uses systematic literature review as a methodological framework of analysis, following the PRISMA protocol principles. The analysis of scientific indexed publications during the 2019-2023 period was carried out. The barriers have been identified as: limitations in technological infrastructure, limitations in financing, limitations in digital literacy, resistance to changes in organizations, strategic management weaknesses, lack of institutional coordination, and limitations in public policies aimed at fostering innovations. It can be concluded that the overcoming of these barriers necessitates an integrated approach involving digital transformation, strategic management, and collaboration of all parties involved in the sector.
