Abstract

This research examines the dynamics of the Islamic education curriculum in facing challenges and innovation in the contemporary era. A qualitative approach is used with the literature study method to analyze the development of the Islamic education curriculum. The four main keywords are: curriculum dynamics, Islamic education, challenges, innovation. This research identifies challenges such as globalization, social change, technological advances, cultural diversity, and economic issues that affect Islamic education. In addition, this research highlights innovations that can be implemented, including technology integration, interactive approaches, understanding local context, developing 21st century skills, and character education. The successful execution of this innovation heavily relies on the crucial role played by teachers and educators. They need to possess a comprehensive grasp of Islamic education, technological advancements, and current societal trends. This knowledge is essential for crafting meaningful and applicable learning experiences that enable students to comprehend and absorb Islamic principles within a contemporary framework. In conclusion, this research emphasizes the importance of innovation in the Islamic education curriculum to answer contemporary challenges and prepare a strong generation of Muslims in modern society.
